Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) is seeking a Technical Editor/Writer to join our team in support of the U.S. Air Force North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (NCMC-ITW/AA) Space Support Contract (NISSC).

Job Description:
The selected candidate will write and edit technical manuals, illustrated parts breakdowns, technical bulletins, and technical data to ensure Certification/Verification, and kit-proofing requirements have been accomplished. He or she will provide technical publication support, guidance, and information to the program. Additional job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • This position requires experience working with USAF TOs and associated military specifications.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and communicate with a wide range of people at all levels.
  • Must provide support to document any changes or revisions to all TOs and other documents that may be impacted by a modification or safety issue.
  • Review, advise, and analyze technical/equipment/system data for procurement packages
  • Effectively works with new components prior to production of systems in development and test
  • Accurately compiles data to support the development, testing, and design of new systems
  • Completely analyze reported problems by researching reports to effectively identify and correct problem areas
  • Compose correspondence explaining technical requirements and actions to solve problems
Job Requirements:
  • An applicable Bachelor’s degree is desired with 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience navigating the USAF technical publication processes to include revisions and changes using various types of source data including but not limited to redlined drawings, engineering documentation, and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Manuals
  • Experience interpreting engineering data to determine impact on applicable equipment
  • Experience generating PDF redlines
  • Excellent grammar and proof-reading skills
  • Thorough knowledge of MIL-STD-38784, MIL-DTL-38807, TO 00-5-1, -3 and -18
  • Ability to edit source data, as required, for completeness of Time Compliance Technical Order packages
  • Review, advise, and make recommendations on AFTO Forms 22 and provide technical support during the preparation of AFTO 252 as necessary to resolve equipment/system issues\\
  • Background which includes experience with Adobe FrameMaker, Illustrator, and Acrobat Pro
  • Background which includes experience with Certification and Verifications
